Sheila McIver

Sheila McIver, 57 was born to the late Matthew and Harriet McIver November 24, 1963 in Newport News, Virginia and passed away on April 21, 2021.

Sheila was full of life, love, and joy. Despite her life’s challenges, Sheila never let life get her down.

Sheila enjoyed things like finger painting, folding papers, puzzles, listening to music, shopping, and working with her hands. She loved people, especially her family. There was nothing that made her happier than her sister Brenda pushing her in her wheelchair on a walk or riding in her convertible car. When Sheila had to be hospitalized or visit the hospital, she would talk to everyone and loved to work at the front desk, nurses’ station. Sheila spent a lot of time going to the Adult Daily Workshop, watching cartoons, children’s programs, and videos of herself on camera.

Sheila was preceded in death by her parents, Matthew W. McIver, Sr. and Harriet Lewis-McIver, brother, Matthew W. McIver, Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memory, sisters, Vanessa Lewis of Hampton, VA, Brenda A. McIver of Akron, OH, Jackqulyn D. McIver of Akron, OH; brother, Steven A. McIver of Chullowhee, NC; favorite nephew, Quaid J. McIver of Akron, OH; special friends, Terry Thompson of Akron, OH, Carol Palhanish and Angi Phillips and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
