Norma Jean Hunter, was born September 4, 1949 to Thelma and Lloyd Hunter in Connellsville, Pennsylvania. Norma was called home peacefully by her Lord and Savior on Monday, October 19, 2020 in her home in Akron, Ohio. Norma graduated from South Union High School, in Uniontown, Pennsylvania. After graduation, she worked at Memorial National Insurance Company in Pennsylvania. She later moved to Columbus, Ohio where she worked at Battelle and for several cleaning companies.

She enjoyed fishing, gardening and smelling good from all the things her loving daughters brought to her. She also loved spending quality time with her grandchildren and close friends.

Norma was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Lloyd and Lenora Hunter; her maternal grandparents, Rudolph and Essie Spencer Harris; her parents, Lloyd and Thelma Harris Hunter; her step-mother, Estelle L. McCarthy Hunter and four brothers, Leon, Fred, Thomas Hunter and Booker Bowman; her daughter Deadra and her love of 30 years, Richard Brown.

Cherishing precious memories of Norma are her twin daughters, Janel Hughes, Anish (Tony) Grimes both of Akron, OH; the father of her children Sadiq Hughes; three brothers Robert C. (Christine) Hunter, Mobile, AL; William E. (Cherlyn) Davis, Jr., Chesterbrook, PA; Clifford L. (Carolina) Hunter, Sr., Uledi, PA; two sisters, Maxine (John) Robinson, Fayetteville, NC; and Polly Ann (Rev. James L.) Cherry, Jr. Uniontown, PA; special grandchildren, Emory, Robert III., Samuel, Angel and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. Honorable mention her loving dog Bones.
