Leroy Mitchell, Sr.

Leroy Mitchell, Sr. age 80, was born in Louisville, Kentucky, May 24, 1941, and went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday morning, March 16, 2022, at Akron City Hospital.

His family moved from Louisville, Kentucky to Barberton, Ohio where he attended Barberton Schools. He worked at Johnston Steele Wire, he was baptized at a young age at Galilee Baptist Church. His family moved to Akron, Ohio where he resided throughout his life. He met and married the love of his life Sharon Joyce Mosley-Mitchell of 57 years and had four children. He loved his family so dearly. He was well loved and known for driving around in his fancy cars and listening to music.

Leroy was preceded in death by his wife Sharon Joyce Mosley-Mitchell; his parents, Willie Bell Wise and Ulyssee J. Mitchell; daughter-in-law, Bridgette Henderson; grandsons, Diamond Henderson, Matthew Quincy Burks; great-granddaughters, D’moni Henderson and Trimoni Henderson; brothers, Henry Burney, Ronnie Mitchell; sisters, Eva, Elaine Mitchell, Alice (Willie) Brunson, Debra Gross; brothers and sister-in-laws, David Mosley, Barbara Fann; nieces, Teresa Keyes, Karen and Laquenta Mitchell, Monica Fann; nephew, Vance Davis, Jr.

He leaves to cherish his memory, daughters, Tiara Mosley, Erica Mitchell; sons, Leroy (Devin) Mitchell and Dana (Carletta) Mitchell; grandchildren, whom he loved so dearly, Trinny, Dontae, Demontae (Half Pint), Devinae (NaNa), Quinten, Dasmine, Mercedes (Lacy), Ashley, Charles (Chuck), Alysha (LeeLee); 27 great grandchildren; sisters, Delores Mitchell, Dyan Howard, Joyce Brown, Peggy Head, Linda Jones; brothers, Rev. Mark Tony (Barbara) Ward, James V. Mitchell; brothers and sister-in-laws, Gene Paul (Alma) McWain, Beverly Rice and Adrienne (Gary) Jones. He also leaves to celebrate his life many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
