Carolyn Jackson

Carolyn “ Niecy” Jackson, 62, departed her earthy life on May 8, 2021. Carolyn was a lifelong resident of Akron, OH. She was a Devoted mother,  grandmother, sister, and friend. Carolyn had a heart of gold and will be missed dearly by those whom knew and loved her. Carolyn worked for Akron Summa St. Thomas Hospital environmental services for many years before retiring. She also attended Southern Ohio college and also Akron University for Medical assistant and medical billing and coding.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ulysses Jackson and AsLena Redwine, sister Lula Mae Harmon, brothers John (Boochie) Eskridge, Willie (Willie C) Eskridge, James (Jimbo) Eskridge, Grandson Jordan (Bolderz)Hopson, Nephew Derrick Harmon. She is survived by her Father; Izell Redwine (Ella); Sons; Antoine Jackson, and Juan (Bubba) Gibson (Daughter in-law Abbey Gibson); Daughter Melissa Jackson; sister; Francine (Fran) Holshevnikoff, brother; Ulysses (Peachy) Jackson; grandchildren; Justin Hopson, Lelan Gibson; Granddaughters Aysha (A-A) Hopson,Lyla Gibson and  Iyanna Jackson Great grandchildren; Harmonee Johnson, and Sa’Raya Hopson; and  a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 20, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Wilkinson Funeral Home, 1158 South Arlington Street Akron, OH 44306 where family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until time of service. Interment, Greenlawn Memorial Park. Masks will be required to attend services.
