Toni Renee Bland affectionately known as “Aunt Tone Tone” was born January 5, 1958 to Lilly Martin. She received her wings on Saturday, February 8, 2020. Toni was a lifelong resident of Akron, Ohio. She attended Akron Public Schools graduating from Central-Hower High School in 1976. She was united in holy matrimony to Ronald Bland II and from this union they had two children. Shasity S. Bland and Ronald “Little” Bland III. Toni accepted Christ as her personal savior at an early age and was a member of Kingdom Grace Full-Gospel Fellowship Church of Mansfield, OH. Toni worked at Barberton Citizen’s Hospital for many years until her health no longer permitted.
Toni was lovingly nicknamed “Candy” as a child by her aunt, Frances Coffey because she was indeed just that sweet! Even though Toni never cursed she could tell you off like she just slapped your whole face off!! Toni love to travel with her 2nd mother Isabel (Alex) Coffey. She was loved by many near and far. Toni loved and cherished her family especially her children and them grandbabies!!!
She was proceeded in death by her parents Lilly & Joseph Martin, son, Ronald “Little” Bland III, brother Willie K. Martin and Grandmother Pinky H. Miller. Toni will continue to live on through the hearts of those who loved her dearly and will continue to cherish her memory her husband, Ronald “Scooter” Bland II, Daughter, Shasity S. Bland and son Devlin Bland. Sisters, Nadine L. (Hiawatha) Bagley, Camilla J. Martin of Akron, OH and Kimberly Jacobs of Tennessee. Father In-law Ronald Bland Sr. of Akron, OH. Grandchildren Mierra Bland of Columbus, OH, Darrean “Deac” Canty, Sintrell Bland, Tyana Steel and Chane Boone. She also leaves to cherish her memory her 2nd mother Isabel “Is” Coffey, special nieces LaKeitha Boyer and Sha Toka K. Martin, special nephew Kerry E. (“O.N.” only nephew) Boyer Jr. God daughter, LaToya Solomon, special cousins Mary A. Lockhart, Betty J. Folk and Theresa Lee. Close friends since kindergarten Debbie Solomon and Elizabeth “Libby” Fisk. Also, close friends Valerie Powers, Elder Barbara Brown and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family would like to express their love and gratitude to Chelle Jeffries. Chelle was a godsend to the family during Toni’s illness. Also, a heartfelt thank you to Toni’s nurse at the Cleveland Clinic Hospice Center, Mary Ellen. God bless you both and know that we the family appreciate all you did for our loved one!
