Stephen Garrnett Crews II, known as Crews or Steve was a beloved son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, friend, and grandson. He loved his family, and nothing made him happier than spending time with family and friends. He looked forward to the holidays and his annual end of summer cookout. Anytime he could get people together and have a good time Steve was down for it. He was quick with a smile and quicker to embrace you with a hug and say “hey, we all family.” Anyone that knew Steve knows he loved people, and he will always be the life of the party.
He loved and enjoyed a life of service. His dedication to children and being an advocate to make sure they were heard, seen, and protected was his passion. His work is well documented with the Boys and Girls Club of Akron, The Big Brothers and Big Sister of Akron, mentoring children in the school environment and in his last position as the Vice President of the Union for Summit County Job and Family Services.
Steve was also an excellent cook and loved to entertain people whether it was at a barbeque or simply having family and friends over to watch the game and enjoy a good time. Steve celebrated life and loved to travel and seek new adventures. He loved sports and celebrated each Cleveland Cavilers and Cleveland Browns victory with his family. He was planning on doing the Running of the Bulls next year in Spain for his 50th birthday. He was always looking for the next adventure and reason to be with his loved ones. Steve had a passion for life, and he shared that with everyone around him.
