Sharon Denise Burks-Dupree

Sharon Burks-Dupree, lovingly known as Shell, 71, of Akron, Ohio, passed away on February 28, 2026.

Shell was preceded in death by her mother, Doris “Nana” Curry and stepfather, Samuel “Dada” Curry. Shell is survived by her loving sisters, Karyn, Val, and June Curry, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members who will continue to carry her love with them every day. Although she had no children of her own, she loved the children in her family as if they were hers.

Shell was truly loved dearly by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She had a spirit that could not be ignored. She loved deeply and left a lasting impression on everyone around her. She loved everybody, even when she had something sharp to say, it always came from a place of love. That is who Shell was. Real. Honest. Full of heart. Full of Personality.
