Roberta E. Head gained her wings on September 23,2022 at Akron City Hospital- Palliative Care surrounded by her loved ones.
Born on February 29, 1948, in Detroit Michigan where she spent majority of her childhood. As a teenager, she moved to Akron Ohio where she attended Akron Public Schools to continue her education. This is where she met her late husband and went on to have five children. She was a homemaker who proudly wore her title as a mother and grandmother. Also, she did an array of jobs from bartending to factory work but her most important commitment was to her family.
She was an avid music lover widely known for the way she loved to dance as the rhythm of the music flowed through her body. She loved to sing, spend quality time with her family and tend to her plants. She was a graceful, loving, compassionate and a caring woman. She spent a great deal of time providing encouraging words of wisdom to anyone that would listen. She touched the lives of many and continued to support and be uplifting all the way until her final days.
In her younger years she was the life of the party and that spirit continued into her adult life. She always brought joy and excitement to those around her. She was a protector, provider, and teacher all in one.
Roberta deeply loved and will be greatly missed by her children; Keisha, Patrick, George, NeChell, Darnell; her granddaughters, Jalaya, Jalia, Korah, Danyel, Najah, Bianca, Ebony; her grandsons, Jaleel, Cordale, Kwinton, Branden, Kadir, DeVarus, Quakeem, Darnell Jr., Quincy, Gregory; and many great-grandchildren; her sister, Emma Oden of Detroit Michigan; her special lifelong friend, Laney Gail of Inkster, Michigan; her girlfriends, Tammy and Cecelia; many nieces, nephews, godchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Roberta was preceded in death by her mother, Cora White; father, Robert Calhoun Sr.; brothers, Robert Calhoun Jr., and William Calhoun; and husband, George Head Jr.
To cherish a lady as pure as you will always be a gift to those closest to you!
