Raynard A. Fitzpatrick

Raynard A. Fitzpatrick was born on September 21, 1963, to Sylvester and Ola Fitzpatrick in Akron, Ohio. Raynard was a graduate of North High School and the University of Akron where he earned a bachelor’s degree in social work. He dedicated his professional life to helping others as a social worker, serving at the Oriental House, where his commitment to care and advocacy left a lasting impact.

From a young age, Raynard displayed a remarkable talent for music. While in high school, he won the regional competition of the NAACP ACT-SO Award in Northeast Ohio with an original ten-piece percussion score. This achievement led him to the national stage, where he earned third place in the national competition testament to his creativity and dedication.

Raynard’s passions extended beyond music. He especially enjoyed riding bikes with his wife and exploring new places to eat. Known affectionately as the “master of the grill,” Raynard brought flavor through his culinary skills, creating meals that were as memorable as the moments shared around them.

Raynard is survived by his loving wife of nine and a half years, La Vonne, with whom he shared a deep bond and many joyful memories. He is also survived by his sisters, Rosemary Fitzpatrick and Rhonda Baxter (Kenny); brothers, Ronald Fitzpatrick and Rory Fitzpatrick (Tremaine); nieces, Uriah Fitzpatrick, Olivia Fitzpatrick, and Isabella Fitzpatrick; nephews, Kaleb Fitzpatrick, Daulson Fitzpatrick, and Jaden Baxter; aunts; Paulette Fitzpatrick and Yvonne Cooper, sister-in-law; Nita Small and brother -in-law Jimmy Small. He leaves behind a host of extended family and friends who will cherish his memory. Raynard was preceded in death by his parents, Sylvester and Ola Fitzpatrick.

Raynard’s life was marked by compassion, creativity, and connection. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
