Patty came into this world on July 18, 1947, at Akron City Hospital, the child of loving parents, William and Ester Sales. She attended Mount Calvary Baptist Church (founded by her grand- father, Rev. Alex Sales), where she was baptized at the age of 12; and she enjoyed attending Bible Study.
Patty attended South High School and graduated in excellent standing. She worked as a dietary supervisor at St. Thomas Hospital. Patty lived in Detroit, Michigan for a short time where she worked at the Chrysler plant. She also had the opportunity to model and even started training to become an airline stewardess. Patty also loved going to the YMCA to participate in many fitness activities. One of her many accomplishments was caring for the elderly and disabled. On November 12, 1983, Patty was blessed with her “Pride and Joy”, her beautiful daughter, Ta’Neesha. She was very grateful that God blessed her to be a mother and dedicated her time to raising her daughter. Patty was a “mother” to many, making some of Ta’Neesha’s favorite meals and sharing with kids in the neighborhood, but only after she put them to work.
Patty was a Jill of all trades! She did everything from painting to laying floors in her home. Her inherent talent for decorating served her and many of her friends well! She also enjoyed helping friends and family keep their homes tidy. Patty used her gifts to foster nature’s beauty as she enjoyed gardening and nurturing her plants. She so fancied the colors black, red and white. Most of all she loved to cook and bake for friends, family and special events at the church. Tomatoes are so, so nutritious - just ask Patty! Her famous soup was second to none. She would always say that tomatoes were her birthmark! Patty was famous for her sweet treats too. We all know her cookies were top notch!
Patty served as chair to the hospitality committee at Mount Calvary Baptist Church for many years. Patty enjoyed singing praises to her Lord and Savior while serving in the Mount Calvary Baptist Church Chancel choir for over 20 years. She also sang with Gospel Meets Symphony for many years.
Patricia loved the 23rd Psalm. God remained her Shepherd throughout her life. Life’s wonderful journey came to a close for Patricia Elaine Sales on Sunday, October 15, 2023. She leaves to cherish her precious memories: her daughter, Ta’Neesha Williamson; grandsons, Kaleb, Kaden & Kendric Williamson; her brother, Billy (Velma) Sales; sister, Felicia (Eric) Lorson; many cousins; nieces and nephews; loving friends, Kaye Dixson, Michelle Jones, and Margaret “Peggy” Williamson with whom she co-grand parented. She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Esther Sales; sisters, Faith and Darlene Sales; and brothers, Ronald Sales and Diego “David” Gonzalez.
