Elder Ned Germany, Jr., a devoted servant of God, family man, veteran, and respected leader in both church and community, transitioned peacefully on October 28, 2025. Born in Opp, Alabama, to the late Claudie (Coon) and Ned Germany, Sr., his life was a radiant reflection of faith, humility, and purpose.
Elder Germany was a proud graduate of The John R. Buchtel High School, Class of 1967, and later attended the University of Akron. In 1969, he was drafted into the United States Army, where he faithfully served his country until 1971. He later continued his academic pursuits and earned an Associate Degree in Business Administration and Accounting from Southern Ohio College.
He was employed with the United States Postal Service for 36 years, demonstrating the same dedication and dependability in his work as he did in his ministry.
In 1977, Ned surrendered his life to Christ. Shortly after, he acknowledged his call to ministry, becoming a licensed and ordained minister for more than 20 years. One of the greatest honors of his journey was receiving ministerial training through Aenon Bible College, a milestone he cherished deeply.
Elder Germany faithfully served at his beloved church, Zion Apostolic Faith Church, where he held numerous positions including Associate Minister, Sunday School Teacher, and the beloved church bus driver, known for picking up and pouring love into generations of members. His service extended beyond the local assembly as he held multiple leadership roles in the Ohio Northeast Region Brotherhood of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World (P.A.W.).
For 45 cherished years, Elder Ned Germany, Jr. shared a loving and enduring marriage with his devoted wife, Terry (Mintz) Germany. Together, they nurtured a beautiful family, raising three children: Tiera Wade (Christian), Nyeeda Beacham (Robert), and Ryan Germany. Their union was further blessed with the joy of nine grandchildren, who affectionally called him Ga-ga: Tatiana, Nia, Christiana, Jaden, Sydney, Bailey, Ryan Julian, Noah, and Jason. In the final 15 years of his life, Terry lovingly and faithfully took on the role of caregiver, managing Ned’s complex medical needs with grace and unwavering commitment. She embodied the sacred vows they exchanged—standing by his side in sickness and in health, with a love that never wavered.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Adgerline “Bubba” Germany, and his sister Maryland (Tillis) Clark. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving sisters Ruby Germany and Pauline Germany, along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, church family, and friends.
He will be remembered as a man committed and steadfast who lived what he preached. He found pleasure in gardening and watching Thee Ohio State University football. He was a man whose faith was steadfast and whose love for his family, church, and community was unwavering.
“Well done, thou good and faithful servant… enter thou into the joy of thy Lord.”
