Johnnie Lee Roper, Jr.

Johnnie Lee Roper, Jr., went home to be with the Lord on May 16, 2026. Born in Akron, Ohio, he was the third of six children born to Elder Johnnie Lee and Hattie Lee Roper.

He was preceded in death by his dearly loved parents; devoted grandparents Earnest and Annie D. Roper; sister, Leetaa; brother, Theodore; and nephew, David. Johnnie leaves to mourn his loss and cherish his memories, his three much-loved sons Johnnie III, Norman, and Avery as well as his adored grandchildren Dillon, Zoe, Aria, and Khaleesi. He is also survived by his sisters Juanita, Deborah, Vilo; special sisters Kelly Ewing, and Ronda Fitten-Sanders; and a host of beloved nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. Although Johnnie left us unexpectedly and much too soon, the essence of who he was will always live on in our hearts and our memories. Come share and/or hear joyful memories about a man who believed that goodness exists in all people. A special celebration of life remembering Johnnie will be held at 939 Lovers Lane, Akron, OH 44306 on Thursday, May 21 st from 3:30pm to 5:00pm.
