On Thursday, September 24th, Joe Nathan Sanders Jr. “Jojo” loving husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, great grandfather and friend passed away at the age of 64.
Jojo was born March 31, 1956 to the late Joe Nathan Sanders Sr. and Elizabeth Sanders in Ravenna, Ohio. As his family and friends would attest, he was the “life” of any event he attended, “Praise the Lord”. Jojo was a cement finisher by trade. He graduated from South High School, where he was a stellar athlete in football, wrestling and track, he would affectionately whisper “Beep- Beep” as he passed you by. Joe loved the Lord and knew the Word, he was also a graduate of Berean Bible Institute in Akron, Ohio. One of the many ways that he would minister was through praise dance.
Joe was an amazing prayer partner, alright now! An avid Bible reader, loved to cook, spend time with his family and dance, dance I say … did someone say dance challenge?
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his devoted wife Aleatha Sanders of 46 years, grandparents James and Mosella Sanders and Ehethal Oakes, Kenneth Tarpley, and sister Pamela Sanders.
Joe leaves to cherish his memory his loving children Joe Haslem of Kapolei, HI, Larrisa (Robert) Williams, Kimberly Sanders, Kansas (Kevin) Jackson, Vernillis Sanders, Joe Nathan Sanders III, and Felicia Sanders all of Akron, Ohio. Siblings Vernillis (Donald) Porter, Marjorie Rumph of Akron, Ohio, Lisa Truss and brother Kenneth (Marlene) Sanders of Houston, TX. Special nephew King Alfred (Carmelita) Sanders, special niece Marshorie Davis, 20 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends. The family would like to thank longtime caregiver Melvina Oliver.
