Brimfield

Jerone Evans Sr. of Cleveland Ohio, transitioned from this life into eternal life on Saturday August 8th, 2026 at his home in Kent, Ohio. He was 47 years old.

Born: Jerone was born on August 13th, 1978 in Cleveland Ohio. He is the second born son of Deacon Tyrone Evans Sr. and Olga Evans.

Early Years: Jerone spent his very early years in Cleveland Ohio, moving through Alabama and Oklahoma with his parents and his older brother until they took up residence in Kent Ohio. Jerone was always full of life and energy. He took an early liking to sports and grew up to play many. He enjoyed playing basketball with his father and brother and friends. He got into boxing being trained by his father. He was on the wrestling team, the track and field team and the football team. He was a star athlete known to many as “Night Train” due to the fear he put in his opponents’ hearts as they saw him moving towards them down the field like a freight train. Many also knew him simply as “45”, his jersey number. He learned to play the trumpet and played in the concert band while in school. He loved life. He loved people. He made many friends along the way. His inner light drew people to him. He loved animals and nature. He loved his family. But mostly, he loved following his big brother around.

Education: Jerone went to Brimfield Elementary School, Field Junior High School and then went on to graduate from Field High School in 1997.

Work: Jerone has worked many jobs over the years as a large machine operator. That is what he enjoyed. Working with his hands, fixing and building things. He did everything from running large machines to making parts for planes, to roofing to helping a friend with building houses. He was unable to work for the last few years of his life due to his health declining.
