Ibebyi Kamaree Kwalume departed this life August 4, 2025. The eldest daughter of Macabbi and Myobi L’Abba (Leroy and Betty Jean Boynton), she was born April 4, 1955 in Ocala, Florida. After graduating high school she relocated to Trenton, New Jersey and later to Akron, Ohio where she married her husband of 25 years, D’Mugabi Kwalume. She remained a faithful member of the Christian Enterprise Church (Christian Alliance Holiness Church) for over 50 years. She acquired and developed occupational skills through her involvement in the church’s vocational services, and employment in health care facilities; demonstrating a particular aptitude in food service. Ibebyi was blessed with a gifted singing voice. She used her voice in the praise and worship of the Lord. “The Best Years of My Life”, a song composed specially for her, is a testimonial and tribute to her aspirational walk with God. Ibebyi was preceded in death by her father Maccabi L’Abba, and brother Audie Boynton. She leaves behind her loving husband, D’Mugabi Kwalume, mother Myobi L’Abba, aunts Mary Frances Seaborn, Daisy Harrell, brother Leroy Boynton Jr, sisters Gwenevere Adams, Eileen Boynton, Yume Kbabwi, Beth Ann Boynton, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss her dearly. She will be remembered by her brothers and sisters-in-Christ, with whom she shared her life journey, along with the many mercies and blessings of God.
