Eugene King Jr., affectionately known as "Junior" went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 27, 2023.
Gene was the seventh child born to Eugene and Iola King on February 12, 1941, in Union Springs, Alabama.
Gene moved to Akron, Ohio in 1959 where he worked at D&B Product until 1972. In 1973 he began working for Roadway, and was there until retirement in 2003.
Junior's extracurricular activities included, bowling, and singing. He faithfully served the Lord as a deacon while attending Zion Temple Missionary Baptist Church for many years in Akron, Ohio, until he recently joined True Deliverance in his later years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Iola King and seven other siblings. He leaves to cherish his sweet memories to his two sons and two daughters, Anthony, Brian, Marina, and Sharina (King)Veasley, his siblings, George (Marilyn), John (Ossie), Willie (Eva), Henry (Roberta),Edith (Albert) Mobley, Gennie Barker and Maxine Surles; four grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
