Debra Faye Owens, a loving mother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend to many, escaped the bounds of earth at 10:07p.m. on Thursday, August 13th, 2026, winging her way to her heavenly home.
Debra was born on January 5, 1962 in Prescott, Arkansas to Eugene and Ola Mae Johnson-Owens. She passed away peacefully, with her two daughters holding her hands.
She attended Martin Luther King High School in Chicago, Illinois. She loved coloring, dancing and trash talking while wearing her own creative style. Debra also, enjoyed cooking for her family and friends.
Debra was predeceased by her parents Eugene and Ola Mae Johnson-Owens :Two brothers, Charles Owens and Willie Owens :Three sisters, Margie Johnson, Georgia Mae Owens, Elizabeth Owens : infant twins brothers, Eugene and Gene Owens: Loving partner Clayton Mae
She leaves behind cherished memories to be held by her three daughters: LaTosha Olive-Stalling (Jarod), Akron, Ohio : Nykia Humphrey (Eddie), Akron,Ohio and Jamie Owens-Smith of Mascoutah, Illinois Three sons: Kenyhett Owens (Jessica), Akron, Ohio: Nykee Owens of Chicago, Illinois and Curtis Humphrey Jr. of Akron, Ohio.
Sisters: Maxine Riley-Johnson and Patricia Owens of Chicago, Illinois , Gloriastine Johnson of Mt. Vernon, Illinois , Carla Shaviss of Charleston, Missouri , Brothers: Walter Owens II of Chicago, Illinois and Tommy Owens of Charleston, Missouri and a Special friend for over 30 years Curtis Humphrey Sr.
Debra has seventeen grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
