David Lee Carson was born on August 19th, 1958 to the late Philip Lee Carson Sr. and Vera Mae (Giddens) Carson in Akron, OH. He entered into eternity on Saturday June 14th, 2025.

Education:

David Carson attended Schumacher Elementary, Perkins Junior High, and Buchtel High School Class of 1977 in Akron, OH. He graduated from Tennessee State University in Nashville, TN obtaining a Bachelors of Science degree in Electrical Engineering in 1981 and a Masters of science from the University of Tennessee with a degree in Electrical Engineering in 1987.

Accomplishments:

As a lover of sports, in High school David Carson lettered in track and cross county. In college, he was part of Eta Kappa Nu, Electrical Engineering Honor Society. After college he obtained a myriad of certifications for engineering. He traveled around the world while serving in the U.S. Navy Reserves for 17 years. He was an avid member of Toastmasters International with a certificate as a competent communicator. He loved spreading the word of the gospel and touching the lives of many people through his ministry. He served faithfully at several churches such as Grace Apostolic in Nashville, TN, Unity Church of Jesus Christ in State College, PA, Berea Apostolic Faith Church in Stone Mountain, GA and lastly at Bethesda Cathedral in Decatur, GA. He was in positions of leadership as a Deacon, choir director and praise and worship leader. He had a special affinity for teaching the word and joyfully served as a Sunday school and bible study teacher. In addition, throughout his life his love for teaching led him to teach as an Adjunct professor at Penn State University in State College, PA and at Devry University in Georgia.

Personal life:

David was married to Luretia Ann (Roberson) Carson for 37 years. He leaves to cherish his memory two loving children, David Lee Carson Jr. and Brittany LeAnn Carson. He is also survived by brother Philip Lee Carson Jr., sister Deborah Lynn (Jerry) Walters, brother Terrance Carson, brother Donovan Scott Carson, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

Interests:

David Carson was extremely knowledgeable and was an avid reader and lifetime learner. When he wasn’t working he loved playing chess and the guitar. He came from a lineage of musicians starting with his grandfather. He even wrote and performed his own music from time to time. He was an artist with a love for painting and photography. He also loved comic books (Marvel and DC), cartoons, Science Fiction(Star Wars, Star Trek, Stargate Atlantis etc.), dogs, and long road trips with his family. First and foremost he loved the Lord and the Word and spent long hours studying his bible and sharing what he learned with his community.
