Charlene R. Williams

July 10, 1961 — January 23, 2024

Akron

Charlene Rena Williams was born on July 10th 1961 in Chicago Illinois. She was the second beautiful daughter to Charles and Roslyn Williams. The Williams family relocated to Akron, Ohio when Charlene was very young. She was baptized at Church of Deliverance, where she sung in the choir. She attended Akron public schools and graduated from John R. Buchtel high school. Charlene briefly attended culinary school where she gained a passion for cooking but her true love was doing hair. She started braiding at 10 years old and would braid her sister's and neighborhood friends hair. Her passion for hair never stopped and continued into cosmetology school.

Charlene had many talents including sewing, crocheting and even comedy. She was very funny and did amateur nights on stage. Charlene found great joy in seeing her friends and family gather to eat, talk and laugh. She called herself the chef of the family and was capable of make any dish your heart desired.

Charlene was a loving mother to four children. Her and her long time companion Lawrence Washington (preceded her in death) worked various jobs to support their family.

Charlene had a heart of gold and was loved by many. She will be greatly missed. We will never forget her sayings "Roll with the roll roll"..."God willing God bless" and our all time favorite "YEA YEA YEA *** YEA"

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Charles and Roslyn Williams and her oldest sister Lawanda Williams. She leaves behind sister Tambra Hills of Akron, baby sister Dellian (DE DE) Brown of Alabama, daughter Charisse (Phillip) Williams Adu, daughter Charlmaine Williams, son Charz (Raven) Williams, son Charles Williams; nieces LaKisha, Demicea, Deneliah, nephew Howard Hyzelle, 9 grandchildren; childhood friends Crystal Haynes, Cathy and Charlene Williams and a host of family and friends.
