Carla P. Barner, whose unconditional love anchored the lives of so many, went home to be with the Lord on May 29, 2025. Carla was born on July 21, 1960 to Marvin and Nora (Calmese) Barner in Akron, Ohio. Carla was a beloved mother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She lived a life led by God, family and faith. Carla was a great seamstress and had many hobbies such as crocheting and home DIY projects. She crafted everything from clothing to blankets to reupholstering home furnishings. She was an avid reader and had an extraordinary green thumb.
She thrived in movement and loved staying active - whether it was hitting balls at Top Golf, tennis, trying out aerial yoga, skiing or belly dancing - she embraced all new experiences with energy and grace. With multiple degrees and a sharp intellect, she dedicated the early part of her career to working with the U.S Navy before continuing her path in public service with the State of Ohio.
