Barbara Purdy

Barbara Janelle Purdy was born in Akron, Ohio on May 24, 1962, at Akron General Hospital to Barbara Inez Bradford and Howard Owens. Barbara departed her earthly life on June 21, 2021 at the age of 59 years young.

Janelle was a life-long resident of Akron, Ohio where she attended Buchtel High School. Janelle loved being a mother, spending time around her family, taking care of her grandchildren, cooking, and doing crafts. Janelle’s favorite scripture was Psalms 23.

Janelle was preceded in death by her husband, Ishmal Purdy; mother, Barbara Bradford; nephew, Arland Anderson; nieces, Tamiko Bradford and Brittany Turner.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Scottie (Elizabeth) Bradford, Damone (Shawnte) Wells, Paulina Bradford and Gracie Prudy; father, Howard Owens; brothers, Michael (Camellia) Bradford, Garland Larkins, Howard Owens, Jr., Kevin Owens, DeGlagus Bradford and Diamond Smith; sisters, Cynthia (Lee) Haley, Paulina Clark, Rosalyn Bradford, Regina (Morris) May, Donna Fullilove and Tracy Johnson; special friend, Tony Coleman; God-daughter, Jazzimika; special nieces, Tika, Laquia, Aricka, April and a host of loving aunts, uncles, nieces, other relatives and friends.
