June 22, 1942 – June 1, 2025

Annie M. Fann, a beloved lifelong resident of Akron, Ohio, passed away peacefully at the age of 82 on June 1, 2025. Born on June 22, 1942, in Montgomery, AL to Anna Barker and Willie Darden, Annie devoted her life to caring for others, both in her personal life and through her career in the healthcare field, from which she proudly retired. Annie was a lifetime member of St Ashworth Temple Church of God In Christ, under the honorable Pastor Elder Robert DeJournett.

Known throughout her community for her warm, and generous spirit, Annie was truly the life of the party.

Annie was a devoted daughter, friend, and neighbor. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

She is preceded in death by: Her parents, Willie Darden and Anna Barker; Son, Julius Darden; Daughter, Deborah Fann; Granddaughter, Marquita Bowick; Grandson Shawn Fann Jr.

Annie leaves to cherish her memory her sons, Anthony Darden, Derrick Darden, Shawn (Billie) Fann, daughters, Valerie Fann, and Sharon Fann; 17 grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren and loving family members and friends who will continue to honor her memory by living their lives with the same love, joy, and generosity she shared so freely.

A celebration of Annie’s life will be held on June 9, 2025 at 12pm at Wilkerson Funeral Home.

Family and friends are welcome to attend and share memories, laughter, and love in remembrance of a life beautifully lived.
